Sour Headband: Sour Diesel X Headband

Sour Headband Is Gaining Popularity In California Dispensaries

The Sour Dieseland Headbandstrains are two of the most popular cannabis varieties in the US, and the west coast in particular. Most medical marijuana patients and recreational cannabis connoisseurs alike would probably say that they have tried at least one of these two cannabis industry staples; those who haven’t are almost certainly aware of their existence.

“A number of [unrelated] strains use the Headband namesake.”

Being from the east coast, I was introduced to Sour Diesel early in life and it is one of my all-time favorite strains. With that said, I typically prefer to find Sour Diesel hybrids in which it has been crossed with more Indica genetics.

To date, the best example I’ve encountered would have to be Sour Grape, but I was immediately intrigued when presented with this batch of Sour Headband at VFL Collective in North Hollywood.

The Headband strain, in particular, has a long-withstanding relationship with the California medical marijuana scene. Despite the lack of true genetic similarities, a number of strains use the Headband namesake (707 Headband, Blue Headband, etc.).

The best explanation for this is likely the slight head pressure for which the true Headband strain is known to generate – a feeling I have found to provide effective migraine relief in the past. It is because of this that I was excited to see how it would interact with the Sour Diesel genetics.

How Will The Sour Headband Strain Affect Me?

Upon seeing this batch of sour headband at the dispensary, I knew I was in for a treat. The display jar was full of plump, dense flowers with an impressive amount of trichome coverage. Additionally it had an incredibly gassy aroma about it that likely stemmed from its heavy Sour Diesel influence.

“The Sour Headband strain should be on every Sour Diesel lover’s bucket list.”

Similarly, this batch of Sour Headband had a strong diesel-like flavor, followed by a slight hint of lemon on the exhale. In fact, I may even go as far as to say this strain had one of the strongest Sour Diesel tastes I’ve come across in quite a while.

Nonetheless, the Headband influence truly came through with the effects of this batch. I found it much easier to focus on a given task after just one bag from the Vapir Rise balloon attachment. With that said, I did not develop the familiar Headband-like pressure. Sour Headband did, however, help me relieve a great deal of stress and muscle tension the neck area.

Overall, I have to say that I was a fan of this Sour Headband batch; it should be on every Sour Diesel lover’s bucket list if you ask me. Consider trying this strain if you are looking for a Sativa-dominanthybrid that can deliver quick stress relief without inhibiting the ability to focus.
