The Pot Burger. – The Pot

My wife and I went to The Pot for lunch today. It had just opened and without a booking we were still welcomed in. A small, cosy little place with traditional tables and higher level tables with bar stools. My wife ordered the salad which was very nice. Even though the portions look small, they are very compact.
Now, I had the ‘Pot Burger’. Arrives on a wooden chopping board with just the burger and battered onion rings. I have eaten many a burger over the years in some famous burger bars around the world. The ‘Pot Burger’ is one of the most divine burgers I have ever had the privilege of eating. Absolutely stunning.
As for the restaurant: the staff were very polite and very accommodating even as the tables began to fill. For a restaurant that opens from Noon till Late, very, very good.

I really enjoyed The Pot. It’s not well sign posted and doesn’t stand out from the outside so I walked past many times and never even gave it a second glance. But when a friend finally said lets go for wine and cheese I really really enjoyed it! Visited again on another occasion for dinner and had the lamb pot with mac and cheese – VERY rich but full of flavour and the lamb just fell apart it was so tender. Staff friendly and helpful on both occasions, and were happy for us to continue to relax and drink after dinner and we didn’t feel like they were pushing for us to leave. Definitely recommend it, certainly as good as it’s neighbour, Melt!

If you want dinner ready after a full day of work or fun with little to no effort, prep these slow cooker burgers and set it and forget it. The hamburgers will emerge moist and flavorful, similar to a classic steamed burger. Tomato juice and ketchup gives them a flavor reminiscent of meatloaf. The chopped onions and celery help keep the patties from scorching and sticking to the bottom of the cooker. Serve on soft buns with toppings like cheese, pickles, and fresh lettuce and tomato.
