Characteristics and usage: Ornamental plant, medicinal plant. The Argyreia nervosa root is used in ayrvedic medicine as a tonic for the nervous system and brain, as an aphrodisiac and for the treatment of arthritis and diabetes. Seeds contain d-lysergic acid amide (LSA).
