http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_Cup
^^ Cant go wrong with any Cannabis Cup winners. Some people claim that the results are rigged and not fair (bribes etc) but its gotta be less rigged than a company talking up their own shit with absolutely no accountability. If you really get into studying the genetics of various Cannabis Cup winners youll see that many times the same base genetics are used. (An example is Super Lemon Haze is made up from Silver Haze which won the Cup years back. there are tons of examples of this) That is why I say any cannabis cup winner Im sure is top notch because most of them are derivatives of the same base genetics.

then you got the regional favorites. Cali is known for its OG Kush strains and various other heavy indicas; “OG” stands for Organically Grown. not Original Gangster BTW . I wouldnt get so caught up in the THC % because its not a big deal to take an extra puff or two of technically weaker THC weed to get an equally powerful high as a stronger weed. Especially if the “weaker” weed tastes much better and gives a better high. There are many other chemicals besides THC that dictate the type of high. White Widow for example doesnt have killer THC but it has tons of other shit in it that more than makes up for it and attributes to a killer high and let me tell you that stuff is just ripe.

There are also other factors to consider:
For example, smell. You dont want the neighbors calling the popos on you cause of the smell do you? Northern Lights I hear doesnt smell as much as other strains so its supposedly a home growers favorite and still dank as fuck.

Overall though. I dont think it really matters THAT much. Dank weed is dank weed. a top smoke is a top smoke. Much of the talk about “strains” is over hype IMO (so many strains comes from very similar genetics from the mid 80s n 90s). So I wouldnt tie your panties in a knot over the subject.

When it comes to “best,” well “best,” like beauty, is in the eye and mind of the beholder/toker.

I think what you need to do is to define “best” and “strongest” in terms of pure sativa or pure indica or predominantly sativa or predominantly indica or something somewhat close to or being a 50/50 cross. You need to decide if you want a clear soaring mind-bending head high like a sativa will give you or a mind-numbing couch-lock body stone of an indica, or wherever in between that your tastes might be found.

Until you know what you actually like and then relay that to others it is fairly difficult for someone to say they know a good strain or two that you would really like.

When it comes to levels of THC, the highest rated strain from a REPUTABLE breeder that I can think of off the top of my head is Herijuana from Sannie’s Seeds.

Sannie’s Seeds – Herijuana

56 days; No feminized seeds.
Known Phenotypes:

Genetic: Herijuana IBL
Flowering time: 7-9 weeks
Harvest: up to 500 gram/m2(indoor)
Taste: sandlewood/afghani
Effect: heavy medical body stone
Flowers: They are rockhard with lots of crystals
THC: up to 25%

This fabulous indica has more then one fine qualities. This makes her very loved all over the world. Because of the high thc percentage en the narcotic after effect, she is often used as a medicinal smoke. The flowers are covered with resin and smell intoxicating.

This plant originates from Woodhorse and was perfected by Moterabel. Sannie and Moterabel work together with genes and since Moterabel is unable to breed for himself anymore. I received the seeds in 2006 and had 2 grows since to get an overall view in what to expect. After the selection we kept the seeds off the best pheno. Because the original seeds were already IBL (Inbreed Line), these seeds are also best to describe as IBL.

The plants grow fast and produce a lot of side branches, as a Sativa normally does. Because off this quality Herijuana is a great scrogg (screen of green) plant. Herijuana keeps growing for the first 2 weeks off bloom and produces golfball-like buds, even the lower buds get rock hard.

Votings of our users: Herijuana gets 7.00 of 10 possible Points in the average!

I would agree with the portion of the above that said do not get so caught up in the THC percentages. THC is the ‘rocket fuel’ in cannabis but other cannabinoids effect it and will increase it’s effects or decrease it’s effects depending on the percentages of each. Some strains, mainly from equatorial and tropical regions, also produce THCV and that is what makes them rocket-sled rides to the moon. If you toke a pure sativa that has THCV among it’s cannabinoids you will be shot to the moon faster than Neal Armstrong and his crew were way back in 69.

As for the just toke more and it will all even out part of the above . well . ok, I’ll bite . what’s the punchline to that joke?

fair enough. The point I was making is smoking more of less powerful stuff (as opposed to smoking less of more powerful stuff) is still gonna get you stoned off your ass. In the grand scheme of things what difference is a few more tokes going to make. seriously.

Not to sound offensive this time, but the more toking experience someone has the more they will learn that sucking in more hits will not make up for lack of potency in many cases. I have smoked a few land-race strains that were real true one hit wonders and I have smoked others that were not in any way garbage but even with ten or more hits I wasn’t nearly as high as after one hit of the other and you could smoke the weaker one until your throat bled and you would never get as high as one hit of the other.

I have run across the very same thing in some crosses. The father of a roommate at college of one of my niece’s friends is an attorney in LA. He gets high and many of his clients, who are movie and TV stars and rock stars and athletes, also get high and he uses the same suppliers as they do. His son gets high and the father is cool with it and he keeps his son supplied with enough of the very same high quality herb as the Hollywood crowd tokes so he has it handy for himself and to keep a few friends supplied. When feeling lazy and not into growing at the time and taking a bit of a break I have purchased herb from my niece’s friend’s roommate and again it was real true honest to God one hit wonder herb.

Strains like Blue Cheese have been mentioned as being very potent herb. I do like Blue Cheese, at least Big Buddha’s Blue Cheese, but someone could smoke ten times as much of it as the herb I purchased and not get nearly as high. The person would most definitely be high . but not close to being as high.

I have seen hardened party commandos almost crying for their mommas after doing two or three hits of Dalat and say they needed to go to bed because they were too high and I have heard a few hardened party commandos tell people that the herb had to be laced with something because only one hit was almost too much for them.

If someone has only toked strains that are basically similar, which FAR TOO MANY STRAINS ARE TODAY, they would say what you said. But if they have experienced herb for around 41-years like I have, sooner or later they will run across exceptions to that belief and learn that they were incorrect if they actually believed it was an across the board happening.

AK48 Strain

AK-48 is a stellar indica dominant hybrid with a unique set of genetics. Don’t be confused; this strain is not the same as the famous AK-47, which is a sativa-dominant hybrid. These two strains only share a similar name, and that is about it. For those that have tried AK-48, it is a potent indica that packs a pungent flavor and aroma. It is no shock that is strain is gaining popularity with the rise of the legal market.

Overview of AK-48

AK-48 is primarily known for having a premium heritage; however, its flavor profile, bud structure, and relatively high THC content makes it a first-class strain. Its average THC content is usually around 20 percent. Even though it is an indica-dominant hybrid, AK-48 has a wonderful mood-enhancing effect. This strain can also send consumers into a burst of laughter. AK-48 is excellent for watching comedies and is best smoked at night. Overall, this strain should be on any consumer’s “must try” list of strains.

Potential Positive Effects of AK-48

Consumers that have found AK-48 have fallen in love with its effects. The indica-dominant traits make for a euphoric and relaxing high, while the sativa-like effects create severe giggles. Growing AK-48

AK-48 is a good strain for beginning cultivars. It is not easily agitated and does not require as much attention as other strains. The average flowering time of this strain is 50-60 days. It does well in both indoor and outdoor grows, but it does need a decent amount of space. AK-48 typically gets about 70 inches tall. For such a quality plant, the yield of AK-48 is solid.
